This is a risk assessment form for assessing the risk of an activity not for the room or premises; this is the responsibility of the institution. If a risk is identified with the room or premises then a decision needs to be made whether the activity takes place until the risk is removed or the level of risk is considered to be acceptable. Risks identified in relation to the premises should be identified on the Need for Action Form.A risk assessment is nothing more than a careful examination of what, in your work, could cause harm to people, so that you can weigh up whether you have taken enough precautions or should do more to prevent harm. The important things you need to decide are whether a hazard is significant and whether you have it covered by satisfactory precautions so that the risk is small. You need to check this when you assess the risks. Don't be over complicated, in most of our situations the hazards are few and simple. Checking them is common sense, but necessary.You pr obably already know whether, for example, you have equipment that could cause harm, or if there is an awkward entrance or stair where someone could be hurt. If so, check that you have taken what reasonable precautions you can o avoid injury. Whilst a generic risk assessment is acceptable for a regular activity it must be reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis. Risk assessments will need to be modified dependent on type of group (do you know the group? Are there any members of the group with particular needs?Has the staff changed? Examine the different ways in which good is used in meta-ethics Essay a) Examine the different ways in which good is used in meta-ethics. Meta-ethics is the study of the meaning of moral language. It describes presuppositions and language of morality. There are a number of different ethical theories for the meaning of good used in meta-ethics. The four main headings under which most acceptable theories can fit under in some shape or form. These are Ethical Naturalism (or Definism), Intuitionism, Emotivism and Presciptivism. Definism theory states that all ethical statements are similar to non-ethical statements and can, therefore, be approached in the same way. In the same way that we can verify a scientific fact, ethical naturalism theory states that we can verify an ethical statement. They are both prepositional. Definism states that ethical statements are just a type of short hand for more complex propositions. So therefore, in terms of Ethical Naturalism, if I were to use the term good in a number of examples, it would just be a summary word to sum up all the other words I wish to have incorporated into my sentence. For example, in the sentence: I am good at football, the word good is used to mean skilled or talented. This does not mean that good means skilled or talented, but simply that both of these words are incorporated in the single use of good. In another sentence, good could be used as a short hand for a completely different set of words. In the sentence, It is good to see you, good is used to mean pleasant, nice or heart warming. Again this does not mean that good means pleasant or nice, but simply that both these words are incorporated in the single use of good. A contradictory theory to Definism is Intuitionism. Intuitionism states that good is indefinable. Intuitionism also holds that basic moral truths are objective and stand independently of what people my fell or think. Intuitionism holds that we should pick out our moral principles through what we think or feel. There is no definition of good that can always hold true. For example, if someone were to define good as pleasing, an Intuitionist would respond by pointing out that not all pleasing things are good. A similar theory to Intuitionism is Emotivism. An Emotivist believes that moral judgements simply express our feelings on a subject. If someone were to claim something was good, an Emotivist would see this as an emotional exclamation, not a truth claim, and would take it to mean that the person approves of the thing/action/person etc. Another fairly similar theory is Prescriptivism. Prescriptivists believe that in using moral language such as good/bad or right/wrong, we are simply prescribing our opinions. In other words were are saying, do this, and let everyone do the same in the same situation. Therefore, if someone were to say giving to charity is good, what he or she is really saying is you ought to give to charity. This again, means that good not used as a universal truth, but in this case it is used as a universal prescription. In summary: in Definism, the term good is simply a short hand for more complex propositions that apply to that particular example. In Intuitionism holds that good in indefinable and therefore has no universal meaning. Emotivists believe when we use the term good or make other moral judgements, we are simply expressing our feelings. A memory does not disappear when computer is shutdown. It holds memory until user needs. A hard disk is holds bytes and bit and that converted into file/folder. However, when program is running that moment the hard disk retrieves instructions and sends data to CPU at the one time. Commonly, the hard drive is transmitting data between 5 to 40 Mbps. Personal Narrative- Amazon Experience Being a curious little twelve year old who was eager to discover the world, when my father asked me back in 1997 if I wanted to travel to Colombia, I jumped on the opportunity. Little did I know just how much I would be discovering. Colombia held sights, sound, and smells that I had never experienced. Crowded city highways with no marked lanes, the stench of lead exhaust filling the overcrowded streets of the capitol, the freshness of the Andean Mountains filling the country air. The thought of Colombia brings a dozen images and adventures to mind. Out of all of these, however, there is one in particular which I shall never forget. It was one of the last mornings we were to spend in Colombia. My father and I flipped through the hotel’s visitors guide looking for ‘must see’ places to visit that day. â€Å"Take a tour of the Amazon jungle,† one of the ads said, â€Å"and see the beauties of nature that have inspired thousands of painters and authors who have visited this site.† My father and I met eyes. If we wanted adventure, this is where it could be found. That morning, while eating breakfast at a small, family-owned restaurant in the country, we joked excitedly of the adventurous possibilities. â€Å"I’ll bet there are some savage cannibals out there, my dad playfully suggested between spoonfuls of Changua. â€Å"Yeah right,† I remarked,† lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!† After getting both our hopes and stomachs full, my father and a departed for our great adventure. But did you know that some of the cells in your body are moving around too? * Cell migration is a critical process for every type of living organism. Cells in the body will often move from place to place to complete their functions. The process of cell migration is important in such things as wound repair and cell differentiation. * Understanding cell migration is also an important part of cancer research. In cancer, cells that normally would not migrate start to move. This is called metastasis, and is the difference between a benign and malignant cancer. Understanding how cells migrate can help us find new cures for cancer and better understand the body. Integrins So, how do cells move exactly? That is indeed a very complicated question, however it can surely be said that no migration could take place without an interesting set of proteins called Integrins. These proteins are so named because they integrate the function of the cell with the outside world. This exterior region is generally known as the Extracellular Matrix, or ECM. The ECM is composed of a wide variety of different molecules that "fill in the space" between cells. Integrins are transmembrane proteins which bind ligands found in the extracellular matrix. They exist in cells as "heterodimers." This means they are 2 separate interacting polypeptide chains which are not the same. Here is a drawing of what integrins look like: The shape of integrins are what is known as a beta barrel. This means that the polypeptide chain wraps around in a barrel shape. Visions of power grew within his head until his thirst for power causes him to lose that very source of his ambition to the blade of Macduff's sword. It is the ironic and symbolic elements such as this in the play which contribute to much of the acceptance the work has enjoyed for centuries. Three forms of irony may be found in the play, Macbeth: Dramatic irony, being the difference between what the audience knows and what a character knows to be true; Verbal Irony, being a difference between what is said and what is meant; and Situational Irony, a difference between what happens and what is expected to happen. I will attempt to show examples of each of these forms of irony and explain their relevance to the characters and the plot.   There are many examples of dramatic irony in the play which we might discuss. A major example is where Lennox asks Macbeth whether the king is to leave Macbeth's castle for home, Lennox: "Goes the king hence today?" Macbeth: "He does: he did appoint so."
